Dental veneer treatment, known as porcelain laminate, is a preferred treatment method to give the patient’s smile and face an aesthetic appearance. The dentist should examine the structure of the tooth, the oral health and diagnose the necessary problems. The laminate veneer is applied following the steps below;
- First, the surfaces of the teeth are cleaned. Depending on the patient’s pain threshold, the local anesthesia method may be preferred before the cleansing procedure. In some patients, this condition is not necessary.
- Once the tooth surfaces have been cleaned, the teeth are prepared for treatment. As part of this preparation process, the tooth surfaces are roughened and cleaned from the tooth surfaces in order to adhere the porcelain laminates to the tooth surfaces.
- Once the tooth surfaces have been eroded, measurements of the mouth and teeth are taken and foliar porcelains conforming to the measurements begin to be prepared in the laboratory. This preparation process can take 4 to 6 days.
- The temporary teeth are attached to the patient for a waiting period of 4 to 6 days.
- When the teeth are ready in the labs, the patient’s tooth surfaces are thoroughly cleaned for the last time.
- After cleaning the final tooth surfaces, the porcelain laminate is bonded to the tooth surface using a special gel.
It is possible to have an aesthetic smile with porcelain laminates within 5-7 days by performing the above procedures on the patient’s teeth.
